The big pineapple plant reveal October 13th

Today in Buddha Garden we had a big reveal when we saw our pineapple plants in the round bed of the Seed Garden emerge from a lot of weeds. The summer rains have been very good for our vegetable beds and plants are growing well but unfortunately that includes the weeds. Some parts of the farm have got quite choked up with them so we hired two workers to help us deal with them. One of the places that badly needed to be cleared was the round pineapple bed in the Seed Garden

As you can see from the picture there were a lot of large weeds which included a small tree growing among the pineapple plants that had to be dug out.

When the weeds had all been removed this is what the bed looked like.

The pineapple plants are on the right and the green and yellow leaves on the left are of a succulent that in the UK we call 'mother-in-law's tongue'. The bed has been transformed and hopefully the pineapples will now have space to grow properly.
